The Ministry of Transportation, Ontario (MTO) retained Coco Paving Inc. (Coco) and Dillon Consulting Limited (Dillon) to complete the Design-Build (DB) contract for the Class Environmental Assessment (EA), Detail Design and construction of improvements along Highway 401 from 0.6 km east of Essex Road 42, easterly to just west of Merlin Road. The project lies within the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, County of Essex and Town of Lakeshore.
A Notice of Study Commencement was issued in August 2019 by others for the start of the Detail Design Phase. This Design-Build phase of the study advances the two parts of this project as follows:
Advancement of the Detail Design and Class EA for the widening of Highway 401 from 0.6 km east of Essex Road 42, easterly to just west of Merlin Road.
